The short version
This site is free, carries no advertising and sells nothing. The only personal information it collects is an email address you type into a form yourself, and only when you ask to be told if a grade changes. We do not sell or rent personal information. We have never done so and the site has no mechanism for it.
What we collect, and when
1. A watch request
Every report carries a form that lets you ask to be notified if that company's grade changes. When you submit it we store the email address you typed, the company you asked about, and the time. That is the entire record.
We do not store your IP address against it. We checked rather than assumed: the database has no column for one.
Nothing is sent until you confirm. We mail you a confirmation link and record nothing as active until you click it. If you never click it, the request expires unconfirmed. This is a double opt-in, and it is the only way an address enters the notification list.
2. A correction or a right of reply
If you write to us, we keep the correspondence. We have to: the whole point of a corrections process is being able to show what was said, when, and what we did about it. Correspondence is held in Google Workspace.
3. Ordinary server data
The site runs on Cloudflare, which logs requests as any host does.
There is no analytics on this site at all. Not Google Analytics, not a Meta or advertising pixel, not session replay, and not a cookieless analytics beacon either. The only script the site loads is its own. We mention this because "we don't sell your data" is cheap to say and easy to check here: there is no third-party code on the page to sell it to.
Cookies
This site sets one thing in your own browser: a theme preference (og-theme) so the site remembers whether you chose light or dark. It stays on your device, it is not sent to us, and it identifies nobody. We set no advertising or tracking cookies.
Who else touches the data
- Cloudflare - hosting, CDN, and the D1 database that holds watch requests.
- Resend - sends the confirmation and grade-change emails.
- Google Workspace - the inboxes behind our published addresses.
That is the complete list. No data broker, no advertising network, no enrichment service, no CRM.
How long we keep it
A confirmed watch request is kept until you unsubscribe. An unconfirmed one expires without ever becoming a subscription. Unsubscribing removes the address from the notification list; every notification email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and we honor it immediately rather than within the ten business days CAN-SPAM allows.
Your rights
Whatever jurisdiction you are in, you may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to privacy@opportunitygrade.com and we will act on it. We will not charge you, and we will not make you create an account to ask.
California residents have specific rights under the CCPA to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing. There is nothing to opt out of here, because we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we have never done so. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
If you are in the EU or UK, our basis for processing a watch request is your consent, given by confirming it, and you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
Children
This site is written for adults evaluating a business opportunity. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted an address, write to us and we will delete it.
Security, stated honestly
Data is held on Cloudflare's infrastructure and access is limited to the people who run the site. We are not going to tell you your data is perfectly safe, because no one can say that truthfully. What we can say is that we collect as little as the site can function with, which is the only security measure that never fails.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will change the date at the top. We will not quietly broaden what we collect and leave the date alone.
